This popular attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park is set to receive a thrilling update inspired by The Mandalorian and Grogu. Tropical Americas Transformation at Disney’s Animal Kingdom to Roll Out in Phases
At last year's Destination D23, Disney unveiled plans to transform the DinoLand U.S.A. area of Animal Kingdom into a vibrant new Tropical Americas land. The 2024 D23 Expo provided further details on this exciting development. The 11-acre expansion will commence in late 2024 and will proceed in several phases.
Tropical Americas will immerse guests in a richly detailed environment featuring a grand hacienda, which will house one of Disney World’s largest quick-service restaurants. Attractions in this new area will include a massive carousel crafted by a local woodcarver and two major new experiences: a ride inspired by Indiana Jones and a ride-through attraction themed around Encanto.
Indiana Jones Attraction Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom
As part of the upcoming Tropical Americas expansion at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a new Indiana Jones attraction will be introduced. This thrilling ride will feature an entirely new storyline set within an ancient Mayan temple. According to concept art, the attraction will utilize the same ride vehicles found in the current Dinosaur ride and the Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland Park.
Test Track to Reopen in 2025
After closing in 2024 for an extensive reimagining, Test Track is set to return to EPCOT in 2025. The update was revealed at the 2024 D23 Expo, offering a glimpse into the revamped attraction. The new Test Track will continue its partnership with Chevrolet and Walt Disney Imagineering, featuring six unique exhibits in the queue that celebrate automotive innovation. The ride will include new show scenes highlighting technological advancements, such as an exhilarating journey through high-tech environments and a scenic outdoor route that captures the thrill of driving.
Exciting New Nighttime Parade at Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World will debut a brand-new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight, in the summer of 2025. This enchanting parade will build on the legacy of the Main Street Electrical Parade, featuring beloved characters and stories from Peter Pan, Encanto, Frozen, and more. The magic of the parade will be brought to life by the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio, promising a spectacular evening experience.
Two New Lounges Coming to Disney World
For those seeking new spots to relax and enjoy themed food and drinks, Walt Disney World is adding two exciting lounges.
First, the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern, first announced at Destination D23 in 2023, is set to open at Magic Kingdom. Although an exact opening date is not yet available, it is expected to welcome guests in 2025.
Additionally, a new lounge inspired by Spaceship Earth will be coming to EPCOT. Set to open in 2025, this lounge will feature a serene atmosphere with rich textures and warm metallic tones, creating an elegant and intimate space inspired by the iconic park symbol.
Exciting New Cars Attractions in Frontierland
Frontierland at Magic Kingdom is set to expand with two new Pixar’s Cars-themed attractions. The first attraction will take guests on an exhilarating rally race through rugged mountain terrain, including winding trails and mud-splashing excitement.
The second Cars-inspired attraction will cater to younger guests and families, offering engaging fun for all ages. Additional details about this family-friendly experience will be announced soon.
All-New Villains Land Arriving at Magic Kingdom Park
